Endless update failure?

Is anyone else stuck in an endless loop of updating, failure to update, then looping back to updating again? This is for PC as of right now because I can still access discord on my mobile. Then in discord make sure in your Voice & Video settings you have your input set to Default. Seeing as I found so many threads that either didn't have a solution or had one that was not a fix for me, I thought I'd post what I did to fix my problem. After searching the internet for a fix every so often the past few weeks and not finding one I finally figured out the issue on my own. So I was having this problem where discord would pick up my mic and I could hear myself in the test option but nobody on the server could hear me.
